Emma once saw a picture of Bernard Leach smoking in his studio. (Bad Idea) Imitating with dirt-stache and wannabe comb-over she tries to channel his folk potter sensibilities. He would not approve.

a.k.a dirt spindle.

I am a ceramics based artist in East Vancouver.

I recently graduated Emily Carr University of Art & Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a focus in all things ceramics related. I mean, I can do other things too I promise. Haha. (Like, Iā€™m really good at smoking & bicycling at the same time while carrying a backpack full of power tools and groceries). Honestly, an arts degree I think is just an ((expensive & privileged)) accreditation of being an expert multi-tasker. Maybe?

I also am the founder & technician of a small ceramics studio called "the dirt bunker" out of a tiny basement, which provides affordable ceramics studio space for artists exploring ceramics. It is a dirt dumpster & we love it!

I also teach pottery & work as a studio assistant to a variety of different kinds of artists.

Besides this way of life as a workaholic artist (too busy! slow the heck down!) I have an overwhelming passion for goats, cabbage & potatoes.

I dream of having a slower life with goats, dogs & chickens in which to make sculptures for so that they have something to play on and climb. So if you're here, you all are helping this little dirt weirdo achieve this other complicated type of life someday. Thank you!
